N.Y. Attorney Charged With Tax Evasion

New York state investigators targeting systemic tax fraud have charged an upstate lawyer with tax evasion. Harvey Bunis has been charged with four felony counts of repeated failure to file personal income tax returns between 2002 and 2007. He faces a maximum of four years behind bars. Over the last three weeks, 17 others, including four attorneys, have been charged with tax evasion as a result of a joint probe between state officials and local district attorneys.
